From today, Air Jamaica will no longer be flying to Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, Barbados, Grenada and Grand Cayman.
The flight cuts, were announced last month.
The national carrier is insisting that the cuts are necessary to reduce costs.
The airline said the cuts would also result in the closure of the affected stations and a reduction in the work force.
The move is part of Air Jamaica’s new business plan for 2009, which has already been approved by cabinet.
The new business plan is said to be a response to the current financial meltdown.
