The Government is to set up trade councils in five countries.
The councils are part of the Government’s effort to increase Jamaica’s opportunities for business overseas.
Minister of Industry, Commerce and Investment, Karl Samuda said the Government is also seeking to market Jamaica to potential international investors.
The councils are to be opened in Brussels, New York and in Trinidad and Tobago.
Two more offices are to be re-opened in London and Toronto.
President of the Jamaica Small Business Association, Edward Chin-Mook, said the association was in full support of the steps being taken by the Government.
