Firefighters from the York Park and Half Way Tree stations were kept busy last night as they fought bush fires in the Norbrook Hills of St Andrew.

Assistant Superintendent, John Morais said the firefighters were only able to access a section of the community where a huge fire was raging.

He said the fires started sometime after 5‘o’clock yesterday afternoon and it took firefighters about four hours to bring the situation under control.
