Oracabessa student killed by motor vehicle
A 16 year old student of the Oracabessa High School in St. Mary was killed when he was hit by a motor vehicle in the vicinity of the James Bond Beach last night.
Its reported that Chavez Williams was among a group of 7 students walking from the beach when four of them were hit by a red Toyota Rav 4.
The police say the driver of the vehicle did not stop.
The injured boys were taken to hospital where Chavez died.
Two of his schoolmates were admitted and the other treated and released.
The police say the students had just left their sports day activity at the beach.
Chavez is the third person to have died as a result of a motor vehicle related incident in St. Mary in one day.
Around 1.15 a.m. yesterday, 28 year old Shamar Lahoud was killed after the vehicle he was driving slammed into a retaining wall along the Race Course Main Road.
Fearon Smith, 52, who was a passenger in that vehicle died in hospital hours after the crash.
