West Portland Nomination incident free

Nomination Day activities are proceeding incident free in West Portland ahead of the March 23 by election.
The Jamaica Labour Party’s Daryl Vaz is to run against the People’s National Party’s Kenneth Rowe.
The Court of Appeal last week upheld a Supreme Court ruling for a by-election because Mr Vaz was an American at the time of his nomination for the 2007 general election.
Hundred of labourites turned up this morning for Mr Vaz’ nomination.
Independent candidate Ras Astor Black was nominated a short while ago.
Mr Black is representing the Jamaica Alliance Movement.
He is a common feature in elections but has never succeeded.
