Attempts to resolve JPS unrest continues
Another effort is to be made to resolve an impasse between workers at the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) and the management.
The unions representing workers at the company and the management are to meet a Government officer tomorrow.
NWU Deputy Island Supervisor, Clive Dobson would not provide further details on the meeting.
However, he said it would follow sectional summits on the weekend involving JPS workers islandwide.
The unions are claiming that under a reclassification exercise, the JPS owes some workers overtime and redundancy monies for the period 2001 to 2007.
The JPS is insisting that the money has been paid.
According to Mr Dobson, the unions are adamant that the workers must be paid the outstanding amounts.
He said disgruntled workers have returned to work and he has asked them to refrain from taking any further protests until the matter is resolved.
On Friday, the Labour Ministry obtained a 30 day Supreme Court injunction to prevent the unions from taking any action to disrupt electricity supplies.
