St James ‘wanted man’ killed
A man who was wanted by the St. James police was found dead in Roehampton in the parish last night.
Commanding Officer for St. James, Superintendent Maurice Robinson, said Burton ‘Lotion’ Reid has been on the run for the past 15 years.
He said Reid was wanted for the murder of a security guard at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in 1994.
Reid’s body was found in a vehicle around 10 p.m. last night with gunshot wounds and the throat slashed.
Superintendent Robinson said Reid was also being sought in connection with several robberies in the parish.
The St. James police want witnesses to yesterday’s shooting at a dance in Norwood to come forward with information.
Four persons were shot and killed and four others injured during the attack.
Superintendent Robinson says the police are still searching for persons believed to be responsible for the murders.
