Man dies in bike crash

A collision between two motorcycles on the Mango Hall main road, Westmoreland last evening claimed the life of one of the drivers and left the other hospitalised.
Dead is Cleon“Dane” Drummond, 21, of Whithorn, while hospitalised is Michael Mattison, 19 of Salmon Point, Little London, both in Westmoreland.
Police reports are that around 7.40 p.m., Drummond was driving a red Yamaha motorcycle along the Mango Hall main road towards Sav-La-Mar. On reaching a section of the roadway the motorcycle was involved in a collision with a blue Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Mattison, which was travelling in the opposite direction. Both drivers sustained severe injuries and were taken to the Sav-La-Mar Hospital where Drummond was pronounced dead and Mattison transferred to the Kingston Public Hospital where he is admitted in critical condition.
