Police report flare-ups in West Portland

The police in Portland are reporting that there have been flare-ups between supporters of the two main political parties in the West Portland constituency ahead of the March 23 by-election.

The hostility has reportedly raised concerns from residents, who are fearful that if the situation is not monitored by the police, it could get worse.

Prime Minister Bruce Golding and other members of the JLP hierarchy are now touring the constituency and are meeting with supporters and party workers ahead of a mass meeting this evening.

And the PNP campaign team headed by party leader Portia Simpson-Miller is continuing its campaign and canvassing in the communities of Hart Hill and Windsor Castle.
