Drug suspect charged
The police have charged the man who was last night arrested in Portland after 200 pounds of ganja was found in his possession.
He is Oscar Fencheney.
Fencheney, who is from Nigeria is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The police believe he is a major drug king pin in the parish.
They also say he is an active player in the ongoing drugs for guns trade between Jamaica and Haiti.
Fencheney was arrested in the Community of Ross Craig, a district near Long Bay in the parish, during a Kingfish led operation.
Just last month the Manchioneal police seized a 30 foot fiber glass fishing boat, which is believed to be one of the vessels used in transporting ganja to the neighbouring island of Haiti in exchange for firearms.
The police are also searching for the owner of that boat, who they believe can assist with their investigation.
