Golding confident of victory
The two major political parties are today expected to step up their campaign activities throughout the West Portland constituency.
Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader, Bruce Golding told JLP supporters at a meeting in Mount Pleasant last night, that he was confident of victory at the polls.
He pointed to several projects in the constituency, which he said were implemented by the party’s candidate Daryl Vaz.
The JLP team will today tour several communities including Rock Hall, and Dumphreys.
The People’s National Party (PNP) campaign teams, along with party workers, are heading into the Balcarres, and Cascade communities as they continue their canvassing activities.
Later today, the leadership of the PNP is scheduled to meet with Election Day workers, and the executive of the constituency, to finalise plans for the upcoming by-election.
