Mob kills man caught breaking into shop

A man, who was allegedly caught breaking into a shop at Treadways, Linstead St. Catherine was hacked to death by a mob in the community earlier this morning.



He has been identified as Gary Rhoden otherwise called “Tommy” of Dee Side, Linstead.



Police reports are that about 4 a.m., residents saw Rhoden breaking into a shop in the community and raised an alarm. Rhoden, in a bid to escape reportedly ran away from the scene but was hunted by the residents.



He was caught in a section of the community and chopped several times.



The police were alerted and when they arrived, Rhoden was taken to the Linstead Hospital where he died whilst being treated. The Linstead Police are investigating.
