NWA to close roads in Portland

The National Works Agency (NWA) will be closing the Spring Garden to Chepstowe main road in Portland for five hours on Friday.



In a release from the agency it said that the road will be closed between Mile posts 5 and 6 and above the town of Skibo and just below Church Hill Corner between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.



The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the Spring Garden to Chepstowe main road in western Portland will be closed this Friday, March 20. The roadway will be closed between Mile Posts 5 and 6, above the town of Skibo and just below Church Hill Corner, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.



The five-hour closure is to facilitate the re-laying of culvert pipes across the roadway.



The alternative route for motorists traveling from Hope Bay towards Church Hill Corner is School House orner, Mount Hermon onto Chepstowe and for motorists traveling towards Buff Bay from Church Hill Corner it is Bybrooke, Rose Hill and Carlton.



The NWA is also advising motorists, who use this roadway to note the period of closure, the alternative routes and obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs.
