Air Jamaica cuts hot meal service
As of May 1, regular passengers travelling on Air Jamaica will no longer receive the airline’s usual meal service.
The airline said instead, a complimentary packaged snack will be served in the economy class.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and juices will be complimentary and passengers will be able to purchase alcoholic beverages.
The complimentary champagne service will also be discontinued.
The airline’s management said in September, it will introduce a new “Buy on Board” programme in the Economy cabin.
President and Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Nobles, said the changes in the airline’s meal service should allow it to be more competitive and efficient in the current economic climate.
The airline will maintain its complimentary meal and beverage service in the Lovebird Executive Class.
