Government to help school for the deaf

The Government is to help the beleaguered Caribbean Christian Centre for the deaf, which is on the verge of closing its Kingston campus.

The school says it’s not able to remain open if it does not get help because of the lack of funding.

Yesterday, the state minister for Labour and Social Security Andrew Gallimore, met with the school’s principal.

He is also scheduled to visit the school today.

84 deaf students from Kingston and rural areas attend the school.

Mr Gallimore is urging sponsors, donors and volunteers to continue to help the school.
