Within the next three months, the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) will implement a new system aimed at providing better service to the public.

Under the new programme known as Cyber Vendexing, the RGD will be offer training and authorisation to individuals to collect applications on the agency’s behalf.

Chief Executive Officer at the RGD, Dr. Patricia Holness, said the agents will be able to function like any member at the RGD’s Head office.

She says the service will be offered at 150 locations across Jamaica, as well as 50 locations within the United States, Grand Cayman, The United Kingdom and Canada.

Dr. Holness says the system is also being launched to deal with the numerous applications the company receives daily.

She says the new programme will provide job opportunities for unemployed individuals.
