Gunmen challenge rivals

Rival gunmen sent people scampering for cover in the informal Mona Commons community in Papine St Andrew, shortly after 8.00am this morning.

The police say a group of gunmen traveling in a red Suzuki motorcar drove up, and opened fire killing a man identified as Jerome Dixon, otherwise called Gig.

During the shooting, other gunmen in the community challenged the gunmen, however they escaped in the waiting motorcar.

A 22-year old man from Mona was also shot and injured and is now in stable condition in the hospital.
