Port Computer Services Limited (PCS) launches partnership with Digicel
Port Computer Services Limited (PCS) has launched its Server Hosting Solution in partnership with telecoms giant Digicel Jamaica Limited.
A partnership with the business arm of Digicel, the solution will aid businesses to lessen their downtime due to disasters or system failure and allow for business continuity.
Clients who purchase the service will have their information stored on servers at Digicel's tier three data centre located in Caymanas. The centre, which is built to withstand a disaster, allows clients to access their information remotely, or set up workstations from the facility.
Speaking at the launch of the service last Tuesday, executive director of PCS, Frances Yeo, said the launch of PCS' newest offering is proof that the company is committed to delivering state-of-the-art software solutions to clients.
PCS' latest partnership with Digicel, she said, will protect against loss of productivity and sales in the event of disaster.
"Downtime can have serious implications for any organisation and as such, we at PCS have decided to protect our clients' business through the offering of this service with Digicel," Yeo said.

We are happy they are looking at delivering this type of service to their customers," Sheehy said. "We are all aware of the need for business continuity, we never knows what lies ahead of us," he added.
