Teens held for rape

Two teenagers in Clarendon have been taken into police custody on a charge of rape.

The teenage boys, who both attend a prominent high school in Clarendon, were arrested last Friday by the Four Paths police.

Sources have told The Gleaner/ Power 106 News Centre that the incident, in which two girls were allegedly raped, occurred at a house in Toll Gate in the parish. The incident was videotaped.

Elderly man dies in crash

Sixty-nine-year-old businessman Basil Lindsay, of Hartwell Gardens, Clarendon, died from injuries he sustained when his vehicle fell into a ditch in Clarendon yesterday morning.

Reports are that about 3:30 a.m., Lindsay was driving his Toyota Noah along the Hartwell main road when, on reaching a section of the roadway, he failed to negotiate a corner, ran off the road and fell into a ditch. He received multiple injuries and was rushed to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
