Although only a second-form student at Glenmuir High School in Clarendon, Ebony Lewis already has four Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) passes.

She earned a distinction in English language, grade two in social studies, and electronic document and preparation management and a three in mathematics.

"It is a great feeling, I am very proud," said her mother, Shirley Lewis, a resident of Old Harbour Bay in St Catherine.

"It is under the balcony that I started to teach her mathematics and it is very rewarding to me that she has done well, " Lewis said.

The successful candidate said she was extremely pleased with her success.

"Most children my age don't even think they can do the CSEC and pass it. Therefore, I am an example to them that if they want to do it, it is achievable," Ebony said.

The 13-year-old plans to someday become a doctor.
