Grantley takes charge

Derek Jones has resigned as chairman of Kingston Wharves Limited (KWL), but will retain his seat on the board.

Jones, a lawyer of more than 40 years standing, became chairman in 2010 after KWL opted to split the positions of chairman and CEO held by Grantley Stephenson since 2004.

Stephenson will now step back into the chairmanship of the port company for six months, KWL decided at a meeting on January 9.

Two more GK departures

Mark Golding has resigned from GraceKennedy's board of directors following his appointment as a Cabinet minister in the new Simpson Miller administration.

Golding was assigned the justice ministry last Friday. He quit the GK board that same day. He also gave up his board positions at Proven Investment and its subsidiary wealth arm.

GK also announced that Audrey Hinchcliffe has also given up her board seat on January 8, having reached the age of retirement. Hotelier John Issa also gave up his directorship for the same reason in late December.

Chisholm gets new job

Mark Chisholm, a member of Sagicor Jamaica's executive management team, has been put in charge of the insurance company's individual life division for Sagicor Jamaica and its subsidiary, Sagicor Life of the Cayman Islands.

He was named executive vice-president for the division on January 1, Sagicor said in a market filing.

Chisholm's previous position was vice-president of individual line.
