WESTERN BUREAU:

PROVEN Wealth has partnered with the St James Police Civic Committee in hosting the upcoming 'Police Independence Ball'.

Now in its second year, the event is slated for the Montego Bay Convention Centre on Saturday, October 20.

At the event's official launch at Blue Beat in Montego Bay Wednesday night, PROVEN Wealth's chief executive officer, Chorvelle Johnson, said her company did not hesitate in offering to sponsor the event, owing to work being carried out by the St James Police Civic Committee.

"As a community, it is essential that the persons who are sworn to protect us are in a comfortable environment," noted Johnson.

She added that she believed that greater synergy with the police force resulted in a better protected community.

"A function of this nature will promote better communication with the police force," she stated.

Johnson used the opportunity to applaud the committee on its efforts to rehabilitate 14 police stations across the parish.
