Tomorrow, downtown Kingston will get more than it's fair share of international glamour when celebrity designer Cesar Galindo showcases his two main lines for the first time in the Caribbean at CITYSTYLE.

Cesar has earned his acclaimed status with a résumé peppered with stints at top names like Dolce & Gabanna, Calvin Klein, Madonna and Gwen Stefani. A self-taught designer, he started his career designing costumes for the Miami City Ballet and the Houston Grand Opera in his hometown. His breakthrough moment came when his washed silk kimono dress made the cover of American ELLE Magazine in July 1993 on supermodel Karen Mulder. Since then, high-end retailers such as Henri Bendel, CUSP (Neiman Marcus' online store) have carried the Cesar brand providing a global reach.

Two of his principal lines will be on show. His ready-to-wear Czar by Cesar Gllindo, launched in October 2011 will be opening the show, while his couture line Cesar Galindo will close. Jamaicans are in for a treat at Styleweek's CITYSTYLE .

After 2011's stunning debut as the kick-off event of Styleweek Jamaica, CITYSTYLE was hailed as one of the most innovative entertainment concepts to have hit Jamaica in more than a decade. The event was aimed at injecting some reality into the imagined recapture of the area's glory days.

Tomorrow, the event returns to the UDC's southern car park on Ocean Boulevard. And for the first time, limited tickets are being sold to the public, available at Max Brown, Sovereign Centre.

CITYSTYLE usually puts the fashion spotlight to the accessories designers. However, the 2013 edition will be far more intense as it merges with women's showcase International Mecca Of Style. Approximately 13 designers from Miami and New York will be unveiling their spring-summer 2014 collections.
