Wanted: new head
1. A number of sports enthusiasts and commentators are quietly saying it's not the coaches who need to go, as we have had several coaching changes, but the leader has been the one constant. It's time for the head to take leave in the interest of the sports and country, they argue.
What's the position?
2. The groans heard across the country over the last couple of days were in response to what some say was the hydra-headed monster the Opposition has become. Supporters and some financial backers say they are growing tired and somewhat exasperated with the leader offering one position, and yet another spokesman offering another.
Same old, same old
3. Quote of the Week: "Here we go again, recycling old officials. Whatever happened to new blood and thinking!"
New list?
4 . The list has surfaced again, and it supposedly has some of Jamaica's highest ranked international drug traffickers. Suffice it to say, it makes for interesting perusal and is a bestseller - in any language!
New master
5. The new 'Backra Master' who 'beat up' the employee for supposedly talking too loudly is reportedly trying to have an out-of-court settlement. Fellow co-workers, however, are adamant that he should either pay through his 'eye teeth' or be made to go to prison, as this will serve as a deterrent to any such future behaviour.
Making the case
6. Some members of the gazing community are quite happy with the position now being publicly adopted by the Church and many others who oppose the repeal of the current buggery law. They say the public opposition and negative pronouncements by the various interest groups help to strengthen their claims for asylum in foreign countries on grounds of persecution, discrimination and fear for life and property. They say while the repeal of the law would be welcomed, the virulent opposition even more so, as it makes their case for them.
Action time
7. The lady of the night who was reportedly assaulted near the Hip Strip is reported to have retained counsel to argue 'recompense'.
