Kilancholly trial continues

The trial of the man accused of murdering three children at Killancholly, St Mary in January 2005 is expected to continue today with testimony from a lawyer who witnessed the accused’s confession statement.



The trial was adjourned early yesterday because the lawyer was attending court in another parish.



Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh is hoping that attorney-at-law Christopher Hibbert will be able to attend court today to testify.



Thirty-two-year-old security guard Jeffrey Perry has been on trial in the Home Circuit Court since last week Monday.



The Crown is relying on Perry’s confession statement and Perry\'s response to questions put to him by the police to prove its case against him.



The children, 15-year-old Dwayne Davidson, 13-year-old Sue Ann Gordon and four-year-old Shaidice Williams, who were cousins of the accused, were stabbed several times at their home.



The incident took place at Killancholly between January 27, 2005 and January 28, 2005.



A confession statement, which Perry gave to the police, was tendered in evidence last week.



Perry said in the statement that it was a voice, which told him to kill the children.
