Chairman of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC, Robin Levy has scheduled a meeting of the company’s board for tomorrow at four in the afternoon.

A release from the transport ministry said the meeting follows instructions by the Transport Minister Mike Henry.

The meeting comes in response to a report from the Contractor General, highlighting improper procurement procedures at the JUTC.

Mr Henry has advised the JUTC board chairman to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are put in place to facilitate a transparent examination of the allegations.

Chairman of People\'s National Party (PNP)Robert Pickersgill said Henry’s misinformation is not acceptable.

He has also called for the Director and Acting Managing Director of the JUTC Bindley Sangster and Directors Dennis Chung, and Raphael Barrett to resign.

In the Contractor General’s report Mr Henry said his information was that Douglas Chambers, the late chairman on the JUTC, was not the majority shareholder in Simber Production limited.

However, the Contractor General has found that Mr Chambers had always been the majority shareholder in the company, which received contracts from the JUTC without due process being followed.
