Corrupt cops nabbed
Jamaica\'s Police Anti Corruption Branch has arrested two more members of the police force on corruption allegations.
One is a corporal attached to the Mounted Troop Division and the other a special sergeant attached to the Harmon Barracks Division.
The names of the policemen are being withheld pending an identification parade.
The police information unit reports that last week, the corporal seized a vehicle that belonged to a motorist for breaches of the Road Traffic Act.
The police say the motorist was later told that the vehicle could be returned if he paid $10,000 to the corporal.
It is alleged that the Corporal asked the special sergeant to collect the money on his behalf.
They were later arrested on reasonable suspcion for Breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act 2000.
A file is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution for a ruling on the matter.
More than 70 police personnel have been arrested since the start of the year on corruption charges.
