The 17 year old youth charged for the murder of a York Castle High School student was remanded when he appeared in the St. Ann’s Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning.

He was initially scheduled to appear in the Brown’s Town Resident Magistrate’s Court but the venue was changed because of security concerns.

The youth who attends the Brown’s Town Community College is now booked to return to court on February 19.

The body of 16 year old Nisa Grant was found with the throat slashed on the second floor of an unfinished house in Brown’s Town last Thursday.

Her ex-boyfriend was taken into custody after he reported to the police that he and Nisa were attacked by three armed men.

However, investigators later revealed that the youth was responsible for the girl’s murder.
