Public entities referred to Director of Public Prosecutions
The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) has referred three public entities to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for their failure to submit their quarterly contract award reports on a timely basis.
The three are the Jamaica Urban Transport Company, the National Council on Education and the National Youth Service.
The OCG said the three, which were required to submit their 2008 fourth quarter reports are, repeat offenders.
The report should have been filed before the February two deadline or by the following day.
The OCG further said any person who, without lawful justification or excuse, fails to comply with the requirement commits a criminal offence.
Quarterly contract award reports are specially structured to ensure that public entities disclose contracts valued at between 275 thousand and 10 million dollars.
