Giving Moore to Arnett Gardens
After a goalscoring performance which helped his team to recover from being two down to UWI FC, Arnett Gardens midfielder Jason Moore said he was happy to have contributed to his team's fight back in the Red Stripe Premier League match on Monday night.
The 27-year-old midfielder who has been at the club since 2009, scored the goal that started the comeback for his team from a 0-2 deficit to share the points as the game ended 2-2. Fabian Reid, the competition's leading scorer, drew his team level in the 90th minute.
It was Moore's second goal of the season, which have come in the last three games, his first coming against Humble Lion, and the former Vauxhall player expressed happiness in being able to help his team.
The draw prevented a second successive loss for the defending champions who are now on 46 points, 10 behind leaders Portmore United.
"Well it's not a good feeling being down two goals to nil, but the coach told me at half time I have a big part to play in this game and that I did by scoring a goal" he explained.
Moore said his team had the confidence and belief that they would get back into the game after being down at the half.
"Yes, we knew the chances would come to get back in the game, I had three and scored one so I am happy to be able to help the team to end the game 2-2"
Expecting more
Having been at the club for almost a decade the midfielder has not cemented himself as a starter but insisted that that will come as long as he continues to work hard.
"Well yes I should be a starter by now but the form is not yet there so I have to put in the work. I was away and returned late so I'm a little behind but I just have to keep working"
Moore who was called up once to the National team, has big dreams for his life and believes these dreams will materialise through the sport.
"Well I want to make a life through football, nothing happens before it's time though so I must continue to work hard to get to where I need to be, to earn more call ups to the National team and get the exposure for bigger opportunities"
Hard work and constantly playing is what Moore believes will get him in the reckoning for more in football.
"I need to be constantly playing, as well consistently at a good level and get into the best physical shape possible, so it just about working hard"
The once defensive midfielder explained how his game changed to what it is now thanks to the influence of his coach.
"I used to be a defensive midfielder but the coach saw the potential I have attacking wise. Now I love that sort of a role to create opportunities for my team and score goals when I can."
