Men involved in police chase in Manchester charged
Two of three men who attempted to elude the police on Old Melrose Road in Mandeville, Manchester on Wednesday have been charged.
Twenty-nine-year-old Ovid McKenzie of Evans Street, Clarendon, who was the driver of the motorcar, is charged with dangerous driving.
Twenty-five-year-old David Dwyer of Lincoln Avenue, Clarendon is charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
The police say the third suspect is to be charged after being interviewed.
The police say a firearm and ammunition were seized during the incident.
It is reported that about 12:30 a.m. a police team was on duty in the area when they signalled the driver of a Toyota motor car to stop.
He did not comply and the vehicle was later intercepted.
The driver and two passengers were apprehended and a Taurus 9 mm pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition, which was allegedly thrown from the vehicle during the incident, was subsequently retrieved by the police
