Clamp down on loud noise
THE EDITOR, Madam:
I appreciate the fact that the Government has implemented imposition of heavy fines on unruly motorists, especially the taxi drivers. It’s a shame how some of them behave, even with passengers in the vehicle, not to mention the elderly and children.
The other day I took this taxi and the driver start racing with another taxi. When we got closer to downtown there was a traffic back up so they both turned off on one of those side street and before you know it the taxi that I was in went all over the place – from Sutton Street onto Church Street then into South Parade.
The next issue that needs attention is loud noise. When is the Government going to clamp down on the people who keep having these rowdy parties and keep disturbing whole the neighbourhood? On my street there are a lot of elderly people, and every Thursday night there is party, which goes on till next morning.
Do you think it’s fair for law-abiding citizens, some of us who are retirees, paying our taxes, to be subjected to this torture. Several times the police were called, but they did nothing about it; we all know how that goes.
Let’s work to make our beautiful island nicer.
Bless up!
A CONCERNED CITIZEN
