Orandy Smith inspires wellness with 8-week challenge
It is said that every accomplishment starts with a decision to try. And, Orandy Smith is living proof that you can be just one step away from becoming the best version of yourself. Doing the wellness walk on his own is inspiring enough, but this lifestyle coach is now motivating others and transforming lives with his eight-week fitness challenge.
“As a lifestyle coach for almost 10 years, I’ve walked the talk, practising what I preach. This experience has not only deepened my self-awareness but also honed my skills in goal-setting, accountability, and personal growth,” he explains to Lifestyle.
With the internet reigning supreme on surgeries, diets and fads, people tend to feel conflicted on the overload of information. And for Smith, unrealistic expectations and overcomplication not only hinders progress, but can result in burnout and quitting altogether.
For women in particular, the matter of hormone fluctuation due to the menstrual cycle often enters the chat, resulting in periods of hormonal imbalance.
“Women’s bodies typically have a higher percentage of body fat and lower muscle mass, leading to slower metabolic rates. Stress and emotional eating, often triggered by hormonal changes, can also trigger a regression in weight loss,” he revealed.
Weight loss overall, he shares further, typically takes time to achieve. And a more effective approach to accomplishing these shedding goals is to focus on simple, sustainable habits and patience. That’s where his eight-week fitness challenge comes in.
Those who sign up for the challenge will learn more about nourishing eating habits, engaging in regular exercise and physical activity and developing a more active and balanced lifestyle.
“Nutrition is the cornerstone of weight loss. To succeed, you must master a calorie deficit while focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods. This requires having balanced meals of protein complex carbohydrates, health fats and vegetables. It is important to include all major food groups in each meal, prioritising whole foods over processed options,” he pointed out.
And with snacking, the smarter the better, Smith says, as he encourages clients to bring a variety of fruits for essential micronutrients into the spotlight.
As for exercise, there are four sessions per week, which can either be done at home or in the gym, inclusive of daily step targets, virtual coaching and support. “Our private support group fosters a sense of community, where members motivate and encourage each other. I occasionally share motivational content to keep them inspired and focused on their goals,” he added.
Some clients, he confessed, expect rapid results. But progress takes time. Setting realistic expectations helps individuals stay grounded and committed, reinforcing the idea that steady, consistent improvement leads to lasting success.
“The results from our eight-week challenge have been impressive, with weight losses ranging from 10 to 26 pounds. Notably, 70 per cent of participants who complete the programme go on to sign up for the next challenge, demonstrating their satisfaction and commitment to ongoing progress,” Smith said.
If you are serious about losing weight, the lifestyle coach advises that you begin by taking small and manageable steps. “Get active and increase your daily step count, take control of your meals through preparation and gradually build healthy habits. And focus on progress, not perfection. By starting small and building momentum, you’ll set yourself up for long-term improvement.”
