Noah powers independent ladies with ‘No Stress’
VP Records has released the single and video for No Stress by reggae-dancehall artiste and selector Noah Powa. Originally featured on Strictly The Best last year, the single is now available for streaming on all digital music platforms.
Although he is known for his comedic and entertaining personality, Noah will be focusing on three singles this summer. In addition to No Stress, there is also the lead track on the upcoming Reggae Gold 2020, Spend Nuff Money, which was released in April, and bonus track Comfort.
Produced by Shams the Producer, No Stress is an ode to the independent ladies who don’t need a man to survive. “Everyone has emotions, but it’s about putting your actions in a different way. When you show you won’t take nonsense from no dude, your energy is just different and more positive,” Noah Powa told The Gleaner.
The video premiered on jamaicans.com and Noah Powa’s VEVO page on Friday at noon. Of the video, he explained, “It relates to the song because the leading lady lives with her man, but when she finds out he is cheating, she does not show her emotions. Instead, she goes about her business, shops with his money, and gets him back by locking him out of the house. In short, she shows no stress about the situation and handles it as she sees fit.”
The year 2019 marked Noah Powa’s first appearance on VP’s Reggae Gold, with his song Keep the Same Energy being one of the top streamed on the compilation. He was also one of the Reggae Gold artistes to be featured on The Breakfast Club’s first annual Angela Yee Day last year, and demand for performances continues to increase.
