Karen Smith, Kathy Brown for Father’s Day showcase
In an effort to provide another Enchanted Evening of Music, this time around, one which is dedicated to fathers, Bunny Rose Entertainment and Frankson Entertainment decided to once again produce a world-class showcase of some of Jamaica’s best talents. Showtime is today at 5:30 p.m. on YouTube @BunnyRose and on the various Facebook platforms of the performers. A special broadcast of the concert will also be aired on PBC Jamaica starting at 9pm.
This show will more heavily focus on female performers dedicating special tributes to the men in the audience, one of the organisers, Rory Frankson, shared with The Sunday Gleaner. Numbered among the performers will be songbird Karen Smith, who gave an awesome performance at the Mother’s Day edition of the Enchanted Evening of Music showcase and has great things in store for today’s concert. Dr. Kathy Brown, jazz pianist extraordinaire, is expected to thrill with her style of Afro-Jamaica. Returning to pay tribute to fathers, just as she did for mothers, will be everybody’s favourite Saxgurl Barbara Witter from the JDF Military Band.
Debuting in the lineup are also Michael-David, a contemporary soul singer from Montego Bay whose Quarantine Duets continue to gain in popularity; and Sashekia Brown, classical soprano from NCU, a rising talent on the Jamaican scene. The performances will be rounded out by producers Bunny Rose and Rory Frankson, and Francois Medley.
“Unlike the Morhers Day Concert, this event will be filmed exclusively in Kingston. This was made possible through the kind contributions of R Hotel, who provided accommodations for the out-of-town performers, as well as the performance space to film the concert,” Frankson disclosed.
