The organisers of the Magnum Top Performa competition have announced that among the many opportunities that will be presented to the winner will be a song produced by one of Jamaica’s top producers, Jordan ‘Chimney’ McClure of Chimney Records.

Magnum noted that the partnership with Chimney Records will undoubtedly provide much value to the competition as McClure has been the production giant behind many of Jamaica’s hit songs which have received major international recognition over the years. The musical engineer was just as thrilled to partner with Magnum Tonic Wine on this project.

“The opportunity to work with new talents who have the drive to excel at their craft is one I am highly appreciative of. Being involved in this capacity allows us to support the industry which has been so instrumental in our career,” stated McClure.

Speaking on his expectations, McClure said that the winner should be dedicated to their craft and to be willing to work hard to ensure that the song makes waves globally.

THE IDEAL WINNER

“My ideal winner must possess creativity and an ear-catching melody. They must present flows and lyrics that will captivate listeners, but most of all, the Top Performa must have an excellent work ethic. Lastly, authenticity is key. Their work must be a true reflection of who they are,” McClure said.

He added, “Music has always been a form of medicine for many. Today’s consumers are looking for music that can get them through a rough day or music that enhances the joys of their day. A catchy, groovy song is also appreciated, so I would advise the competitors to keep this in mind throughout the rest of the competition.”

The pressure is on for the competitors, as they work assiduously to get the votes needed to advance to the next round.

In addition to the Chimney Records-produced song, the Magnum Top Performa winner will receive $1.5 million in cash, a music video from Romeich Entertainment and the chance of performing at Reggae Sumfest on July 21.

The next stop in the Magnum Top Performa Roadshow is Romeich HQ on July 7. The top four will be announced and will battle it out on stage where the top two finalists will be selected.

Voting is now open at www.magnumhub.tv/topperforma, and closes on July 5.
