Prince Rainer, Jimmy Carter visit J’ca

PRINCE Rainier of Monaco and former US President Jimmy Carter are among the prominent visitors currently on the island.

The prince arrived at the Donald Sangster Airport, Montego Bay, over the weekend. He is accompanied by his daughters, Stephanie and Caroline, the latter still grieving the October 1990 death of her husband in a speedboat accident, along with her three children.

A CANA report said the prince plans to visit Kingston today, where he will be taken on a tour of Jablum, one of the island’s largest mountains, about 15 miles from downtown Kingston.

Former President Jimmy Carter will be among a group arriving on the cruise ship Song of America in Ocho Rios. He will have lunch with Prime Minister Michael Manley at Shaw Park Hotel.
