The timeless touch
A year after making her debut with her first collection, local fashion designer Phyllita Duffus is all grown up showing immense maturity and growth in her second collection - The Timeless touch.
The designer who admitted that fashion was not her first choice but it took her over, is now more committed to making her Kimandamisses line a success. The pieces in the new collection are a departure from her first, which were corporate wear. The new collection is dominated by more defined clean-cut pieces which covers a gamut of events from dinner to social gatherings.
Her vision for her line is to design for women, who want to display confidence, and distinguish themselves from the ordinary and the mundane. This reflects her fashion philosophy: less is more but whenever you feel down, get up, dress up and never give up.
And speaking of never giving up, in her first interview with Flair Magazine, the St Hugh's High school past student revealed that she wanted to be a pathologist. She has not given up on that dream and tells Flair its still in the works.
Her designs are available at Urbana Stryd, Shop 11A 7th Avenue Plaza in Kingston.
