Shocked at doctor's killing

THE EDITOR, Sir:
On behalf of the Association of Surgeons in Jamaica, we are shocked and deeply saddened over the recent murder of Dr Martin Garwood. We hope that the killer(s) is/are swiftly brought to justice.
Dr Garwood was a tremendously gifted surgical resident and medical practitioner. The association was looking forward to welcoming him to the fraternity next year when he would have achieved full qualification to be a practising surgeon in Jamaica.
We are all overcome with grief and our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
