Give Marvette, Sasher-Gaye permanent coach jobs
THE EDITOR, Sir:
It would be a move in the right direction to have interim coaches Sasher-Gaye Henry and Marvette Anderson as permanent national coaches for Jamaica's senior netball team.
Former coach Jermaine Allison-McCracken had a very rocky relationship with several local players, and we never seemed to be progressing. I don't know if the players were xenophobic and failed to give their all with the Britain-born coach, but we have sunk to the lowest ebb, with little-known Barbados outclassing us.
I am absolutely certain that these two ladies will do us proud at international tournaments. They are no-nonsense individuals, and we are fully aware of their capabilities.
These two coaches came up through our rigid system, and I know the players will respect them.
Marvette and Sasher-Gaye are our greatest prospects currently. Give them permanent job status without delay.
