Hit passengers of 'robot' taxis with big fines

THE EDITOR, Sir:

How can there be talk of increased traffic fines, yet no mention is made of prosecuting passengers and owners of illegal taxis?Aren't they willingly participating in illegal activities?

Prosecuting illegal taxi owners and passengers could be one sure method that the Government can use to drive them out of business. Can you imagine, for example, paying $20,000, with all the associated risks, for a ride when you could only pay $100 on the legal ones and without the added risks?

Please, Mr Government, revisit the Traffic Act and do what is necessary to protect us from ourselves. Just think about all the benefits that will come about as a result of this patriotic suggestion.
