Selfie stick ban farcical

THE EDITOR, Sir:
Over time, there has been a ban on certain items that are allowed inside the National Stadium. As time goes by, the list gets longer.
The most recent addition to the list is the selfie stick. If the rationale for banning the selfie stick is because it could be used as a potential weapon, so, too, are a walking cane and crutch. Belts with large metal buckles are potential weapons, too.
A man measuring 6' 4" and weighing 270 pounds is more of a potential weapon than an average person carrying a selfie stick. This recent addition to the banned list smacks of being farcical.
