Returning retirees under the gun

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I commend the speedy apprehension of the suspects in the deaths of Alford and Florence Anderson residing in Portland. I pray that this leads to convictions.

While I do no not wish to take away from the family the sorrow of their loss, I only wish the same could have happened for my mother, Millicent Clarke-Barrett, from Point, St James, who was also murdered by an individual from a nearby area.

She, too, was a returnee from England, much loved by the community and for the works she did. She was shot by a coward all because she was defending her home. The worst thing is that CCTV footage was captured and yet the police are doing nothing to track down the killer.
