My scandal bag is safe
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I have listened to - and read - all the information I could find since last Monday when Minister Daryl Vaz announced the ban on single use plastic bags below a certain size, starting next January.
Having examined the information, I now know that my scandal bags are safe and will not be banned because Mr Vaz repeatedly underscored that the Government is going after single use bags.
Well, I go to the supermarket, and I get my scandal bags to take home my groceries. After the items are taken out, my bags are given to my children to carry home the one or two items I then buy from the corner shop.
After that, my bags are dragged to the back of the yard to collect the little mango and ackee that I have growing on the trees there.
No, after that third use, my scandal bag is tucked into the corner of the kitchen, where it collects the garbage that I
generate while cooking. It is best for those fatty parts of the meat that I plan to throw away.
Then my scandal bag, after four different uses, gets tied and added to the garbage for collection.
So there is no doubt that my scandal bag is not one for a single use and it is safe from any ban.
I fully support your ban Mr Vaz, especially since I know my bags are safe.
