Stench coming from hotel sewage plant

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I write to express my concern about the high faecal stench coming from a major hotel sewage plant in Tower Isle, St Mary, for over one month now. This scent has been causing great discomfort to motorists who have to travel on the Tower Isle main road on a daily basis. This stomach-wrenching stench is further distressing, seeing that an infant school is just metres away from the plant. Recently, I heard a motorist commenting on the fact that if such a scent was coming from an ordinary man's premises, it would have been addressed by health official already!

This injustice to us should not have been allowed to persist for such a long period. I call upon this hotel to set the example and address this long-standing stench issue or for the Public Health Department to take immediate actions to address this major discomfort to citizens.
