Same-day traffic court appearance

THE EDITOR, Sir:
There are multiple traffic laws on the books, and more are coming. Yet the mayhem continues. Why?
There is virtually no sanction. The ticket can and is ignored.
My solution: same-day traffic court appearance. As soon as an offender is issued a ticket, he/she is taken immediately to said traffic court to have the matter adjudicated. After a few of these, look for improvement in road behaviour.
