Lack qualification can hinder growth

Published:Tuesday | January 29, 2019 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR; Sir:

In reading a commentary in The Gleaner regarding the lack of qualifications for those persons appointed to boards, I wish to note that we as a nation should ask that all persons appointed to boards or as ministers have the necessary academic or experiential qualifications to make them eligible to participate in the running of the organisation to which they are appointed. The lack of qualifications could be the underlying reason for the lack of economic and social growth since independence.
