Let’s go carolling
THE EDITOR, Madam:
Christmas comes once a year, so we should give it our best shot by playing some of the best, some of the most glorious and soul-stirring Christmas carols. And, we should play them often and consecutively on our radio stations, right throughout the season.
Despite the change of times, or the modern days in which we are living, we should go the extra mile in bringing out the Christmas spirit – and in all its glory – by stoking up some sweet and fiery Xmas music of yesteryear. Doing so will make any spirit, any broken-hearted or depressed soul come alive.
So, give us some lovely steel band, some lovely, organic and saxophone Christmas songs. We don’t want to hear any reggae music when playing Christmas music, and don’t mix them with any irrelevant songs.
Here are a few Christmas song that should be in the list: Ding dong Merrily on High; Once in Royal David’s City; Good King Wenceslas; Hosanna in Excelsis; Go Tell It On The Mountains; Joy To The World, and many more nice ones.
And, of course, a few Harry Belafonte, Nat King Cole, Mahalia Jackson, the Chuck Wagon Gangs, Boney M’s very best, etc.
