Do research before smearing Holness
THE EDITOR, Madam:
For years, I have been advocating that the Government should build actual STEM schools for gifted students. But instead, politicians renamed failing institutions and called them STEM academies.
Unlike previous leaders, Andrew Holness is a performer, so in his recent address to labourites at their conference, he announced the construction of STEM academies in the future. Such facilities will cater to the needs of exceptionally gifted students whose demands are not met by the present system.
Some are wondering why Holness intends to craft new legislation for the establishment of STEM academies, but such concerns are misplaced. Whenever STEM academies are created, they are governed under different management.
AN INNOVATOR
Critics ought to be asking Holness if Jamaica has sufficient geniuses to fill up these academies. Andrew Holness is a substantive individual with ideas beyond basic policies.
Therefore, if antiquated minds cannot grasp the logic of his proposals, then they are at fault for not doing their research. Holness is an innovator who will not lower his standards to appease anyone. Hence, those with a passion for criticising him must do their research to prevent themselves from appearing silly. When analysts smear Holness due to ignorance, they are only doing a disservice to their personalities.
