Fix UWI hospital gate traffic

Published:Tuesday | November 26, 2019 | 12:38 AM

THE EDITOR, Madam:

On any given day, it is impossible to drive from Papine to the University Hospital in less than 10-15 minutes – a distance of about 200 metres. The traffic congestion at Mona Commons is ridiculous. You have bread vans making deliveries, taxi drivers loading, random parking and total mayhem.

Mona Commons’ residents have built their shacks right up to the sidewalk and sit on stools in the little space that’s left. Hence, there is nowhere to walk. This is squatting at its worst.

This is a living testament to a local authority that has no use.

People are going to die in the traffic pile-up on their way to hospital if nothing is done.
